Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Your heart is true, you’re a pal and a confidant
I’m not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won’t you stand up and take a bow.
A hit in the late 1970s, this Andrew Gold song went on to become the theme song for The Golden Girls (the latter having been sung by someone else).
Just another pop song, but it was catchy – and a sweet tip of the hat to the gift of friendship.
And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear even though it’s hard to hear
I will stand real close and say
Thank you for being a friend.
It was this type of cherished bond I had in mind when creating our collection of personalized plaques for friends.
It began with an idea which sprang out of a song the children at my church’s Sunday School used to sing about friendship. The refrain went like this: Friends are the flowers in the garden of life.
To that, we’ve added other sentiments and a variety of designs.
But it all began with a friend – and a flower.
As Christmas approaches, you might be thinking of saying “thank you for being a friend” to someone special in a tangible way. Our personalized plaques are a unique way to do it – without breaking the bank. There’s still time to order!
