When I read that line, lighthouse imagery immediately came to mind.
It also conjured up a verse we use on many of our keepsakes for godparents: For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
In this case, you’re looking at Portland Head Light on Cape Elizabeth in Portland, Maine. It’s a stylized version of the shot…more like what a painting would look like than the photo it actually is.
The lovely setting would have been more to my liking had the sky had something interesting going on. 🙂 That day, it seemed like I would get my wish; when I left my house to head up there, the skies were menacing with storms in the forecast. By the time I got up to the Cape, there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky over the ocean.
It’s an hour from my door to the lighthouse, so very hard to know what the conditions will be like upon arrival. I made do with what I had to work with that day.
This is a lighthouse worth seeing if you’re in the area.
