As you’re probably aware, my photography is the basis for most of the wall art designs at The Christian Gift. Most of what you see on the site are landscape images, though I also do quite a bit of architectural work.
Upcoming shoots are mainly New Hampshire-based, though I’m trying to work in a few days around DC. In the mountains of the northeast, we’ve got lupine season coming up in June – that’s perennially on my calendar.
I have a short list of scripture verses in the back of my mind that I’d like to pair with imagery I capture with the camera. Sometimes these end up as pieces of inspirational art.
Last year about this time, I invieted you to chip in by submitting your favorite verses as well. The one mentioned most often, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” was the basis for a design created last summer.
I’m still working on another wonderful submission from one of The Christian Gift’s friends who happens to hail from my home city (Chicago): “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Since I do so much of my work in the White Mountains, it seems like a natural! An image I made last autumn is a good fit, but I have an alternate possibility in mind – I’m still searching for that second location.
Your thoughts and suggestions are always welcome and a source of creative inspiration to me. Which Bible verse is your favorite (or maybe you have more than one)?
If you submitted one last year, is there another that has a special place in your heart?
I’d love to hear from you! RMetschke@TheChristianGift.com
