I did a double-take recently while adding the personalization to a customer’s order for a plaque for Godfather.
Why?
The baptism year wasn’t 2012…it was 1970.
Turns out the purchaser was the Godchild – obviously now a man in his early 40s. He wanted to present his Godfather with this memento – it was a way of thanking him for the special spiritual bond the two have shared over the years.
What a great – and creative – idea!
As you’d expect, most who purchase our personalized plaques for Godparents, Godmother and Godfather are parents who wish to present their infants’ sponsors with a gift on baptism day to commemorate the occasion.
Occasionaly, though, you see something different – like this fellow’s idea – or the woman who purchased the plaques as Christmas gifts for the Godparents a few years after the children had been baptized.
