The first full week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. It’s interesting how, many years later, one can vividly recall educators from long-ago classrooms.
I’m still in touch with a couple of my teachers from high school. Just last year, a former classmate and I took our band director (marching band, jazz band, symphonic band, and the pit orchestra for musicals) out for a birthday lunch when I was back in my hometown. Having been very active in performing arts, this man was an integral figure in my life during those years. He directed me in at least one (and sometimes as many as three) rehearsals a day over the course of the school year. That’s a lot of hours – and, for a gifted instructor – a significant opportunity to make an impact.
As the school year winds down (which also typically includes the Sunday School year), perhaps there’s a special teacher you’d like to recognize.
We created a collection of personalized plaques – especially for educators – to help you do just that.
