By the way, do you know about the origins of National Volunteer Week? It was launched first in Canada in 1943, to honor the contributions made by women on behalf of the World War II effort. As the years went by, it waned in popularity. However, it found new life in the 1970s when it was recognized by Presidential proclamation in the United States. Every year since 1974, National Volunteer Week has been recognized by every American president.
