I just returned from a photo shoot in Virginia. The nice thing about working in the Shenandoah Valley is the fact that I can combine it with a chance to see one of my brothers. 🙂
Pictured below is Natural Bridge, located near Lexington. One of the natural wonders of Virginia, the bridge is quite imposing at 215 feet high, 40 feet thick, 100 feet wide, and with a span of 90 feet between its walls. Thomas Jefferson purchased Natural Bridge and the surrounding acreage in 1774 from King George III. He built a small log cabin near the bridge and used it as a retreat, visiting often and bringing guests.
Natural Bridge was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1998.
Here, the first rays of morning sunlight cast warm hues on its limestone walls.
