Matthew Freeman Project

I came across this post today:

Lisa Freeman’s son, Matthew, never came back from his Marine service in Afghanistan. Rather than let her grief own her, she’s channeled it into a remarkable project called The Mathew Freeman Project. She transforms the uniforms of fallen soldiers into lovable, cuddly bears for their children and family. Her bears help many families during times of grief. Best of all it’s completely free! God Bless you Lisa and may you continue to change the world for the better.

Wanting to know more, I went to the Matthew Freeman Project website.

There I read about the bears, Pens for Peace, and found out about the Gold Star Sibling Scholarship established in his name. I also got to know Matthew just a little bit. This was a man of character…who came from a family to whom character and strong values are important.

If you feel so inclined, you can donate to the project via the website.
