March Madness is in high gear. This time around it’s been a particularly wild tournament. Countless brackets were busted right out of the gate with Ohio State losing early, more went out the window with other surprising upsets – and there have been quite a few edge-of-your-seat games.
No shortage of interesting narratives.
There’s one story involving Michigan State – an off-court story – that is more compelling than the most exciting of these games.
As the Spartans get ready to take the court tonight against Virginia, make sure to notice Senior Adreian Payne. To be sure, he’s a star player – rated as the nation’s number one center by Lindy College Basketball Magazine. But more importantly, this is a kid with a heart of gold. He is the embodiment of caring and kindness.
If you haven’t heard the story of Payne and little Lacey Holsworth, you can read about it here.
The writer calls it “the best story in college basketball.” It most certainly is.
