Roots

A lot of people are partial to one Bible translation over all others. Given the choice, it’s the “go to” version they prefer to read. My dad was that way…for him, it was King James all the way.

I tend to skip around a bit. The Bible I use for study is an NIV (1984) version…since it’s highlighted and marked with my notes, it’s the one I reach for first. That said, I like the nuance that can sometimes be gotten from reading the same passage in multiple translations. And I just purchased a second study Bible; this one is English Standard.

The translation of the verse below from Ephesians is NLT: less popular, maybe, but I like the visual when it’s paired with this image:

Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.
Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
Ephesians 3:17

Do you have a Bible that you reach for more than others? Which translation is it?
