The Secret to Success

“The secret to success does not lie in talent, but in hard work, will and opportunity.” For each of the past few years, I’ve been treated to a pretty good illustration of the fruits of persistence in a little corner of one of my flowerbeds. In the snapshot at right you can see the pink … Continued

Relax!

In this 24/7, always on, always-connected world, sometimes is pays dividends to unplug and relax for a bit. It’ll all still be there when you get back to it…   The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it. ~Sydney J. Harris

Watching the Clouds Float Across the Sky

I’ve been waiting (forever, so it seems) for some nice cumulus clouds to fill the sky…and yesterday afternoon got what I’d hoped for. I dropped everything, got in the car, and raced to nearby Exeter to make the shot I’ve had in mind.

Attitude

I envy those who are able to consistently look at life through rose colored glasses. I’m not saying they don’t acknowledge difficulties…I’m sure most of them do. “There’s no place like home.” “You can’t go home again.” Hmmmm. Which is it? Or, if not black and white, perhaps it’s a combination of the two. Someone invited me to be a part of a Facebook group about my hometown late last week. Most of the participants (so far, anyway) appear to range from … Continued

Critters for Company at Daybreak

With cloud cover forecast for this early morning, I decided to head over to the coast again to see if there’d be favorable conditions to photograph the sunrise (perfectly clear skies typically don’t make for good color – I’m always looking for some clouds). Actually, it’s more accurate to say I photograph pre-sunrise because the … Continued

A New Day

When I head over to the shore to shoot the sunrise, I always have company as the lobster boats head out each morning at daybreak. It’s a quite peaceful and pleasant start to the day…though also very early this time of year! While we’ve lost a half hour to the start of the day since … Continued
